What we aim for

We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2, at level AA. That is the benchmark most commonly used to judge whether a site is usable by people with disabilities.

What this site does

• Every text and background pair on this site was measured for contrast rather than eyeballed. Body text meets 4.5 to 1 and large text meets 3 to 1.
• Nothing on the site hides behind JavaScript. There are no accordions, no collapsed answers and no tabs, so every word is present when the page loads and readable with scripts disabled.
• Every form field has a visible label, and errors appear next to the field they belong to rather than as an alert.
• Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
• Headings run in order, landmarks are marked up semantically, and images that carry meaning have alternative text while decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
• Animation is limited to one drawn chart line. Under a reduced motion preference it renders in its final state without animating.
• There is no cookie banner, no pop up and no overlay of any kind on load.

Where we are not certain

This site has not been through a formal third party accessibility audit. The items above were checked during the build, and checks run automatically on every change, but automated checks cannot catch everything a person using assistive technology would notice.
